Program partnership with Brock University helps students, landlords, and neighbours

Niagara College and Brock University combine efforts to launch a new Off-Campus Living Program. Officially launched this week, the program is designed to support students living, or preparing to live, off-campus in the Niagara Region. This partnership means that Niagara-area landlords will now be able to target students at both institutions with one simple listing process.

Almost forty percent of Niagara College students (2,500) come from outside the Niagara Region.

“It’s a busy time for off-campus housing activity,” says Brigitte Chiki, Director, Student Services, “We still have over 300 students on our residence waitlists who will need to find off campus accommodations soon.”

The new Niagara College Off-Campus Living program (NCOCL) not only provides information and resources for students, but also for area landlords, and members of the surrounding communities living with student neighbours.

The program also offers students support and guidance on finding suitable accommodations, understanding their rights and responsibilities, housemate dynamics and living on their own. Tips on being a good neighbor and positive member of their new community are also included.
