Many Hands project accepting applications

Jun 24, 2009

The Many Hands committee is currently accepting applications for its 13th annual project to take place in 2010.

Led by Niagara College Event Management post-graduate students, the Many Hands project will provide a one-day renovation blitz for a local charitable organization. The project will also include students in Niagara College’s construction programs.

This past year the students, along with more than 80 community volunteers, renovated the Welland Hope Centre’s Sprouting Hope Garden.

As in years past, students will plan all aspects of the project, which will take place in April, 2010. The ongoing success of the Many Hands project has been due in large part to the support of Canadian Tire Financial Services, the project’s founding sponsor.

Applications are now being accepted from local not-for-profit community organizations for the 2010 Many Hands Project. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 24, 2009.

Eligible agencies must be a not-for-profit organization involved in the provision of a community-based service in the Niagara Region and be willing to commit agency resources to the project. Selection of the project will be determined through the Many Hands Project Advisory Committee.
